Julio García Casas: “Music is mankind's heritage and it must be cultivated”

Opera World interviewed Don Julio García Casas after the recital offered by the Grenadian pianist Alejandro Algarra in Seville the 15th of June, with Chopin's 24 Preludes as main course. With that interpretation, Algarra wanted to entertain this great energizer of Seville's cultural life. Born in Fregenal de la Sierra (Badajoz), but settled for decades in the Sevillain capital, Julio García Casas has presided over Juventudes Musicales of Seville for an incredibly long time, lending from this institution a fundamental support at the beginning of the careers of suceeding generations of Spanish pianists, from Rafael Orozco to Juan Pérez Floristán.
